Terms of Service
Effective 11 October 2026
The service
Countries API (“the Service”) provides read-only JSON data about countries, currencies, and related fields, plus flag assets served from our CDN. The Service is operated by reqi and offered free of charge.
By accessing the Service (including this website, API endpoints, and flag URLs), you agree to these Terms of Service. Our Privacy Policy describes how we handle information.
Acceptable use
You may use the Service for lawful personal and commercial projects. You must not attempt to disrupt the Service, abuse its infrastructure, use it in a way that impairs availability for others, or use the Service to violate applicable law.
We may apply usage restrictions or access controls (including throttling, blocking, or suspension) that vary over time and are not guaranteed to be documented in advance, when we reasonably believe access is abusive or harmful to the Service or other users.
API and CDN use
The public API does not require accounts or API keys. Cross-origin requests are permitted for typical browser and server use. You are responsible for how your applications call the Service and for complying with applicable law in your jurisdiction.
Do not send sensitive or personal information in URLs or query strings, as request paths and query parameters may appear in server logs processed by our hosting provider.
Data and accuracy
Country records and flag assets are derived from third-party sources and may be incomplete or outdated. We do not guarantee that any response is complete, current, or error-free.
You are responsible for verifying data before relying on it for critical or regulated purposes.
Intellectual property
API software and site design are proprietary to reqi and are not open source. The Service may incorporate third-party open-source software; those components remain subject to their respective licenses.
reqi and Countries API names and branding may not be used to imply endorsement without permission.
Availability and changes
We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or a minimum uptime. We may change, restrict, or discontinue any part of the Service, including endpoints and response formats, with or without notice.
Disclaimer
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, reqi and its contributors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to the Service at any time for violation of these terms, operational needs, or other reasons we consider appropriate.
